Would you pay $200 for a pen?
How about a pen that remembers what you write, and also what you didn't write?
LiveScribe's Smartpen (Called Pulse) stores your notes, sketches, and doodles in digital memory so they can be transferred later to your PC. It also records sound. Sketches and written notes can be saved to a PC and then e-mailed or posted to a blog, enhanced by a recorded voice message. It's not the first "smart pen" to hit the market, and given past flops, only time will tell if consumers want their writing instruments to be this high-tech and pricey.
Livescribe uses technology licensed from another company, Anoto Group, that has tried to bring smart pens to the market without success. But Livescribe thinks its enhanced features may do the trick.
Pulse is available in two models: the 1GB model ($149) and the 2GB model ($199).
